NSW Premier's Reading Challenge
Now in 25th year. Read a curated list of books over the school year and log them on the portal. NSW-wide. Different per-year-level book requirements (K-2: 30 books / Y3-4: 20 books / Y5-6: 20 books / Y7-9: 15 books). Certificate signed by the Premier.

Strongly recommended. Free, low-pressure, builds a habit, and the booklist is curated by genuinely thoughtful people (children's literature experts). The 462 new books added in Term 1 2026 keep the list fresh. Pair with Tutor / SparkRoute reading recommendations — PRC list + AI suggestions = a good combined reading diet. Caveat: the "certificate" itself isn't selection-relevant; the reading habit is the prize.
